Yeah, a lot of shit happened, but either way I never moved to Nevada, but instead a quiet suburb of Minneapolis. GC: Rebuild is (and has, for some time), been cancelled. I am working on something new, and hopefully a lot simpler, that leaves the old Future Imperfect setting behind. Watch this space for more news to come, and in the meantime, you can have the name of the new RPG up at the top there as a teaser.
As a side note: the old forums are gone, possibly permanently, unless I can somehow find a copy of the old forums database. If I can find them, I’ll put them up as an archive.
Concerning the new RPG, while I’m still working out the details, I plan to keep up my usual habit of technical innovation when it comes to these things and abandon the old email system in favor of some sort of Discord based system. More details on that since I need to figure out how to finagle it, but it seems like it will be more practical than trying to run the RPG out of a free email that multiple people need to have access to in 2025. This will require people who want to participate to have a discord account, but that’s a lot more common now than it was ten years ago. The old discord I was using for development is gone forever; I got hacked a few years back
I have yet to make a new RPG discord, but I’ll update the chat link at the side when I do. The old one got destroyed when my discord was hacked in 2023, along with every other discord I personally made. That more than anything else took the wind out of my sails conclusively for GCR.
The new RPG will NOT be some complex thing with lots of moving parts and NPC factions and stealth and all sorts of special features. Instead, it will be a lot closer to the old classic “beat the stuffing out of each other” RPG you all know and love from the After Era days. I will have some things for you all to do, of course, but I want content to be a lot more player driven.
I’ll put up some new forums presently, but they’re primarily just going to be for roleplaying, player profiles and posting battles. RPG discussion will, generally speaking, occur on the new discord that I have yet to make. For now I’m on Nomad’s discord as a temporary thing (link for that to come).
At some point, I will post what I had planned for GCR if anyone’s curious. TL;DR: man known for making incredibly complicated RPGs planned to supremely own himself by implementing an enormous RPG bait and switch involving time travel that would make his new RPG even more incredibly complicated.
